Stop. Of course it ends. There’s something truly absurd about my last post.

Every story has an ending. And who decides where it goes? The writer.

We can look at the world in two ways, as one big continuous story or a collection of little ones. Yes … the second angle makes more sense. Storytellers carefully select the places each one begins and ends.

Lots of little stories. But they’re all part of one big story. And when we’re working in nonfiction, carving up the truth, manipulating stories that belong to real people, it’s important to remember what a powerful act we’re committing.
