I’m late on this, but I think that’s alright. On Sunday, an LA Times op-ed by a guy named Michael Skube blasted bloggers (at large). The title of the piece pretty much says it all: “Bloggers: All the noise that fits.”
Skube lit up a few bloggers, including Jay Rosen, who invited his readers to help him put together a retort. Earlier today, both on his blog and latimes.com, he posted a piece called “Blowback: The journalism that bloggers actually do.” Rosen and his team slammed together a killer list of 14 journalism projects that have been built on blogs in the past few years.
It’s a damn good body of work. And this is only the beginning. Will we even be calling these things blogs this time next year?
